About Dr. Chintamani
Dr. Chintamani was born in Lumbini, the western part of Nepal, and brought up in a Brahmin family. At the tender age of eight, his mind was occupied with the Sanskrit language and its immense philosophical depth.
Dr. Chintamani is a highly qualified & experienced yoga Guru with a nurturing & supportive approach. He has been involved with yoga and its teachings for over 25 years in both Nepal and India and has a depth of knowledge unsurpassed in the region.
From a very young age, he was unknowingly exposed to the spiritual way of life, deeply influenced by his family—particularly his parents and grandparents. Cultural and traditional practices within his family and society, along with a sattvic diet and a close connection to nature, inspired Dr. Chintamani Gautam’s early curiosity about spirituality. A chance to read and analyze the classical scriptures during his early age led him to become more curious about this timeless wisdom. Driven by an intense desire to learn more, he later traveled to India to further his studies in Sanskrit literature, yoga, spirituality, and philosophy.
Dr. Chintamani continued his learning of Sanskrit literature, Eastern philosophy, mantras, tantra, and yogic lifestyle with the guidance of scholar gurus and fellow yogis, and gurus across the vast lengths of the Himalayas. While in India, he furthered his yogic journey under pure guru guidance, who gave him a traditional practice of yoga and its lifestyle. His teaching only nurtured the practice in him and brought about a clear understanding of the true purpose of yoga.
To further complement his practical learning, Dr. Chintamani continued the study of yogic scripture, understanding yoga and the related philosophies. He further took up Sanskrit literature, eastern philosophy, mantras, tantra, and the rich tradition of yoga. He read some of the ancient texts like the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the major philosophies of the East. His scholarly ventures finally culminated with the attainment of a PhD, post which Dr. Chintamani returned to Nepal to share his acquired knowledge with fellow countrymen. He is actively working to spread the yogic education and values among children, youth, aged, and professionals in different sectors.
Currently, he is running a Classical Yoga Retreat and Academy supported by a highly qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable team of dedicated teachers. They are highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable in the field of yoga to guide students in the most suitable way possible. The team is highly capable to guide the students according to their individual levels and interests, providing personalized instruction to ensure optimal learning. This aims to eliminate negative thinking and misunderstandings, fostering better personal health, social harmony, and spiritual prosperity. Besides this, he has been involved with many corporate and social responsibility projects, media presentations and mentoring people from diverse backgrounds on health and lifestyle, stress management, personality development and skill and memory enhancement programs.
Whilst learning the many aspects of yoga at the academy, Dr. Chintamani’s wisdom and experience will inspire and guide your progress into your own deep practice of yoga (Sadhana).
